A great rage fell upon her and none could restrain her. Now knowing the end was near – When Nahe’s eyes locked on her greatest foe she sounded her horn, and challenged Faelwen to come forth to single combat. Faelwen could not deny the challenge before his army; for her voice came keen and clear around the battlefield; and named Faelwen lord of slaves and betrayer of kin. Therefore Faelwen came forth clad in black armour and stood before Nahe casting a shadow over her like a thunderstorm. But Nahe gleamed beneath for her mail was overlaid with gold and silver and her sword glittered like fire. Faelwen hurled his great hammers aloft and swung down like thunder. Many times Faelwen essayed to smite her and each time Nahe leaped away and each time she would wound Faelwen and every time he would cry in anguish. But at last Nahe grew weary from the long battle, and at last Nahe stumbled and fell and Faelwen set upon Nahe striking her many times. So ends the last defender of Anierra.
